Denver Business Journal | Thornton casts financial lure for Cabela’s
Thornton’s City Council approved measures Tuesday to give 63 acres of land to a developer and pledged $15 million in improvements to the area southeast of 144th Avenue and Interstate 25 in hopes of luring Colorado’s first Cabela’s store.
After meeting in executive session for 75 minutes, council members voted unanimously to approve a resolution and two ordinances to enter into an agreement with St. Louis based THF Realty Inc., doing business as Thornton Development LLC. They asked no questions and had no public discussion.
The word “Cabela’s” was not mentioned in the public meeting, nor was it written into any of the measures approved Tuesday.
