Colorado Springs Gazette | Kum & Go Plans 20 to 25 Pikes Peak Region Stores over 5 Years

Kum & Go, the Midwest convenience store chain, will build 20 to 25 stores over the next five years in the Pikes Peak region as it takes on 7-Eleven, Loaf & Jug and other established retailers.

Kum & Go, a privately held, family-owned business based in West Des Moines, Iowa, will invest $70 million to $80 million in its stores and employ 300 to 375 mostly full-time people by the time it completes construction in 2016, said spokeswoman Catherine Huggins. For competitive reasons, she declined to say how many stores will be built each year.
